FGM1197 Glass Tube Variable Area Flowmeter, with vertical threaded connections. It is a high accuracy laboratory glass variable area flowmeter. It is intended for a range of applications in various industries for visual indication of flow and where necessary, limit alarms. It has several variations of glass and float combinations to fit any flow ranges for a given nominal pipe size. The available floats are precisely machined for the highest possible accuracy and repeatability within its class.

A glass tube variable area flowmeter equipped with vertical internal threads or hygienic threaded connectors for installation, often used in food & beverage or pharma contexts where sanitary connections are needed. It is part of the VA Master FGM1190 series, sharing the same measurement principle and glass tube design.

The McMenon FGM1197 is a threaded glass tube variable area flowmeter engineered for direct-read visual measurement of gases and liquids in compact or modular systems. Designed for simplicity, reliability, and clarity, the FGM1197 delivers accurate flow indication where flanged connections are unnecessary or impractical.

Its clear tube and scaled float design allow for instant flow verification in small industrial loops, lab environments, and skid-mounted units. The lightweight construction and threaded ends support easy inline integration—making it an ideal solution for low-maintenance OEM builds or utility-focused measurement points.

This model variant allows mounting with sanitary fittings or union nuts. Flow ranges are the same (max ~17.6 m³/h water). Materials: float and wetted parts can be made of stainless steel or other alloys, and seals of food-grade elastomers if needed. Maintains long-term accuracy thanks to the fixed float guide ribs in the tube. Pressure rating ~18 bar; often limited by the type of fitting (food connections typically lower pressure).
