Averaging pitot flowmeter variant optimized for large pipes/ducts, ensuring accurate flow monitoring in big flow channels with minimal pressure drop and straightforward installation.

An averaging pitot tube flow sensor configured for larger line sizes or special mounting (denoted by L-series). It samples flow at multiple points to produce an averaged differential pressure, enabling flow calculation with minimal pressure loss.

Engineered for very large pipes or ducts (ranging into several meters diameter) as well as standard pipelines. Maintains accuracy across wide flow ranges (turndown ~10:1 or more) and can measure at low flow velocities. Often includes sturdy support structures or dual mounting points for long probes. Withstands typical industrial pressure/temperature conditions for gases, steam, and liquids. Accuracy and performance are comparable to other FPD350 models (roughly ±1% of reading when calibrated) and excellent repeatability.

Vendor documentation covers the entire FPD350 family, including L-series adaptations for large lines.

Primarily used in large-scale flow applications, such as air flow in HVAC or exhaust stacks, flue gas measurements, or large water distribution lines, where inserting an averaging pitot is much more feasible and cost-effective than installing a full-bore flowmeter. Provides an efficient solution for monitoring flow in big conduits without significant head loss.

Manufacturer’s sizing tools support these large-diameter applications, ensuring the probe and support structures are properly selected for the flow conditions and structural needs.
