Large-scale averaging pitot tube flowmeter providing effective flow measurement in very wide pipes or ducts, maintaining accuracy and very low pressure drop for big-flow systems.

An averaging pitot tube flowmeter that provides multiple sensing points across the flow and is intended for large or low-pressure applications. It averages the impact pressure to provide a stable DP reading for flow with negligible obstruction to throughput.

Suitable for pipe diameters from moderate to extremely large. Often implemented with special supports (e.g. center brackets) for very long sensors. Like others in the series, it features robust stainless steel construction, and the DP output can be as low as a few millibars at full flow, making it gentle on the system. Performance: high repeatability (~0.1%), low permanent pressure loss (<1%), and capable of accurate measurements in flows with Reynolds numbers in the low thousands or even hundreds.

Standard product literature applies, describing installation of averaging pitot tubes and performance data across the family.

Deployed in scenarios such as ventilation systems, environmental air flow monitoring, or large diameter pipelines in water treatment plants. Especially useful in low pressure systems (e.g. large ducts at near atmospheric pressure) because it minimally perturbs the flow. The L-series ensures even such large-scale flows can be metered reliably.

The manufacturer’s selection tool covers both horizontal and vertical plane installations of these probes, ensuring the correct model and support configuration is chosen.
