Glass Rotameter – Vertical Flanged FGM1198
Glass Variable Area Flowmeter
Starting from:
$455.00
Categories:
A glass-tube variable area flowmeter outfitted with flanged end connections (DIN or ANSI flanges) for direct integration into process piping. It is the flanged variant of the FGM1190 series, offering the same flow measurement capabilities in a more robust, installed form.
High visibility glass variable area flowmeter
The McMenon FGM1198 is a flanged, vertically mounted glass tube variable area flowmeter designed for clear, accurate visual indication of flow rates in gas and liquid service. Built for reliability in low to moderate pressure systems, it combines a high-visibility scale with durable wetted materials and a compact footprint.
Its vertical design with flange compatibility allows seamless installation in fixed piping systems, making it ideal for inline visual flow validation across utilities, chemical systems, and water treatment applications. As part of Eleven57’s mission, the FGM1198 delivers dependable, cost-effective measurement that supports efficiency, transparency, and operational safety.
Applications: water purification loops, inert gas regulation, chemical feed lines, visual audit points, calibration setups.
Features and Specifications
Available with standard flange sizes from DN10 to DN50 (½″ to 2″) to match common pipe standards. Capable of measuring flowrates up to about 17.6 m³/h water or equivalent. The flanged design (type -98) can handle slightly higher vibration or pipeline stress compared to threaded versions, while still rated to ~18 bar and 180 °C service. Accuracy class ranges from 1.6% to 6%, depending on tube/float size. The float remains guided by internal glass tube ribs for stable readings, and cleaning can be done by removing the top flange and extracting the tube if necessary.

Supporting Documents
Specifications in the product literature highlight the flanged model (FGM1198) and note compliance with DIN/ASME flange standards.
Solutions and Applications
Used in process plant settings where a secure, permanent installation is desired – for instance, in chemical reactors coolant lines, fuel gas lines, or plant air lines where frequent flow observation is needed and a flanged meter ensures no leakage. It is also favored in some water treatment skids and energy systems (like boiler feed lines for visual confirmation of flow) for its ease of installation and durability.
